Frequently Asked Questions
The Consistency Rule ensures that traders pass funded challenges through repeatable, disciplined edge rather than relying on one lucky high-risk gamble. Prop firms dictate that no single trading day can generate more than a defined percentage (typically 30%, 40%, or 50%) of your total phase profit.
Consistency Score = (Highest Single Day Profit / Total Net Positive Profit) × 100. If your highest profit on any day was $3,500 and your total challenge profit is $10,000, your consistency score is ($3,500 / $10,000) × 100 = 35.0%.
You do NOT fail the challenge! You simply need to continue trading normally and earn additional profits on subsequent trading days to dilute the percentage weight of your biggest day until it falls below the firm's required threshold.
Firms like FTMO (performance checks), FundedNext, FundingPips (40% rule on express models), The Funded Trader, and Cortana implement consistency guidelines to ensure long-term risk management.
